If you are expecting and thinking about a newborn session, or if you've just welcomed a new baby, I'd love to hear from you. These sessions are typically done within the first week or two after their arrival. Sessions are relaxed and can take place either in my home studio or in the comfort of your own home.

As newborns can be unpredictable at times, these sessions are designed with you and baby in mind. I place no time limit on newborn portraits, so you'll have ample time to feed, cuddle, and tend to their needs. After all, a full-tummied baby is a content one, so relax and know that the day is yours.

I'll bring along everything that we'll need for the session, however, I allow and encourage you to incorporate any special items into your pictures. If you've got a heirloom outfit, a crocheted blanket, or anything of the like, I think that they'd make a great and very personal addition to your pictures.

I'll come with more items than you would think could possibly fit in a single vehicle. Some of these things I will definitely use, while there are many props, baskets, blankets, and handmade items that are yours for the choosing. Feel free to let me know what your ideas are and use anything I've got in your pictures. I tend to travel fairly heavily when it comes to newborn pictures....Don't worry though, like the Cat-in-the-Hat, I pack up as quickly as I come.

I will shoot both pictures of the baby alone and with mom and dad. While most newborn pictures are done in just their newborn skin, I strongly suggest parents wearing black or an otherwise dark color if at all possible. Black photographs phenomenally well against a baby's skin, and it keeps the focus on the subject of our pictures-your little one!

Newborn sessions are best done in the early hours of the day, to maximize the amount of natural light that we can use. I'll ask that you keep your house exceptionally warm that day...it'll be nearing the unbearable mark for us, but it'll be perfect for keeping your unclothed baby cozy and content.

I'll look forward to meeting the newest addition to your family!
